• A vibrant work in Georg Karl Pfahler's characteristic style. • Part of the same private collection since the 1990s. • Along with Günter Fruhtrunk, Pfahler is considered one of the most important European representatives of Hard Edge painting, which can be traced back to, among others, works by American artists like Ellsworth Kelly and Kenneth Noland. • Most recently, the artist's works were on display in the highly acclaimed exhibition ‘Mehr als Malerei - die Sammlung von Wulf Herzogenrath’ at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld (until November 2024).
We are grateful to Mr Florian Pfahler for his kind confirmation of this work's authenticity. It will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of paintings.
