painted with scantily draped classical figures singing and playing music before a table on a terrace set before a parterre and a garlanded arcade, with a village in a wooded mountainous landscape in the distance, and a figure kneeling before God appearing from the clouds, within an ochre and black-line border, inscribed on the vases “R. La P 1758 Genes:C(6)” and in the border with the Latin verses “Crevit in immensum munerum miserabile iugus / Illicitos iugens thalamos ueritosque hymenaeos” and “Nullus honor, culturusque Dei pietasque remansit / Lustra tamen duodena D[u]as bis pertulit ista”, in a giltwood frame
