Carpenter (American, 1869-1949) Indian Family, and Home Industry, circa 1900-1905 (2 works) Two collotypes Each c. 7-1/4 x 9-1/2 inches (18.4 x 24.1 cm) Each with printed title, the first also signed with copyright insignia, negative. Charles H. Carpenter was a prominent American photographer, notably the first staff photographer for the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. He is known for photographing Native Americans, particularly during the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Each a warm toned print on matte, double-weight paper, trimmed to edges. Some wear to upper edges of both prints (including a few pushpin holes) and actual small losses along top edges, particularly to Indian Family. Otherwise wonderful images, in very good condition overall. Sold matted and unframed.
