Enclosed with this work is a letter from Fritz Klimsch dated January 1940, in which he explains the fact that the sculpture is not signed:
'...With the figure 'Versonnen', it is difficult to attach the name, as the figure has no plinth. Attaching it to the foot was not an option for me, so I left it off....The figure exists in 6 copies'.
