- In 1960, Alex Katz painted “The Black Dress” (Museum Brandhorst, Munich), the first time he had portrayed his wife Ada in six different poses in a black dress. - The artist's famous metal cut-outs can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, as well as the National Portrait Gallery in London. - In 2022/23, the Guggenheim Museum dedicated a major retrospective to Alex Katz.
