A Large Mezcala Figure Guerrero, Mexico, c. 300-100 BC Carved from a speckled blue-green stone with veining. The short legs cut wide apart, hands held to abdomen, raised line indicating waist, deep groove at neck, head tilted slightly up. The face distinguished by a large triangular cut at mouth and chin, and thick eye brows. In excellent condition, some pitting on proper right side, a few areas of erosion on back near and on the right leg. Custom metal stand.
